Privacy Policy

Yandu is a product of 5MiMu SARL, a société à responsabilité limitée registered in Dakar, Republic of Senegal (RCCM SN.DKR.2025.B.26157, NINEA 012325206), with its registered office at 66 Boulevard de la République, Immeuble Seydou Nourou Tall, Dakar, Senegal. Yandu is not a separate legal entity. For anything in this policy, 5MiMu SARL is the party responsible for your data, and you can reach us at hady@5mimu.com.

This policy covers the public Yandu website and the waitlist form on it. It does not yet cover the Yandu product itself — the tools that will eventually help parents, tutors, and schools coordinate around a student's academic record. That product is still being built, is not accessible to the public, and does not process any student or academic data today. Once it launches, we will publish a separate or expanded policy describing exactly what it collects and how, before it processes any such data.

If you join the waitlist, we collect your name, your email address, and the role you select (parent or guardian, tutor, or school). We use this only to contact you about Yandu's launch and to understand who is interested in it. We do not ask for or knowingly collect any other personal information through the website.

We use Mailchimp, operated by Intuit Inc., to store waitlist submissions and send email updates. Mailchimp is a US-based service, which means your waitlist data is transferred to and stored outside Senegal. You can review Mailchimp's own privacy practices at mailchimp.com/legal/privacy. You can ask us to remove you from the waitlist and from Mailchimp at any time by writing to hady@5mimu.com.

We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand overall traffic to the site — for example, which pages are visited and roughly how many people visit. This analytics is cookieless: it does not use cookies, does not use local storage, and is not designed to identify you individually. We separately record, in aggregate, whether the waitlist form was opened and completed, together with the language and role selected — never your name or email — to understand interest in Yandu.

The Yandu website does not use cookies or browser local storage to track you. The only cookie the underlying platform can set is a technical preview cookie used solely by our own editorial team when previewing unpublished content in our content management system (Sanity) — it is never set for, or relevant to, a public visitor.

We keep waitlist entries for as long as we are actively preparing for Yandu's launch and using the list to communicate with you, or until you ask us to remove your entry, whichever comes first. A formal, fixed retention schedule has not yet been established and will be set as the product develops. If you would like your data deleted at any time, write to hady@5mimu.com and we will do so.

Senegal has its own personal data protection framework, overseen by the Commission de Protection des Données Personnelles (CDP). Regardless of where you are writing from, you can ask us at any time to tell you what data we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, by writing to hady@5mimu.com. We will respond directly rather than through an automated process.

The website links to 5MiMu's corporate site at www.5mimu.com and, in the waitlist confirmation flow, to Mailchimp. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of sites we link to.

We take reasonable steps to protect the data you give us, including relying on Vercel's hosting infrastructure and Mailchimp's own security practices for the systems that hold your data. No online service can guarantee complete security, and we cannot promise that data you send us will never be accessed without authorization.

We may update this policy as the website or Yandu evolves. When we do, we will publish the revised policy on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Where required by applicable law, we will provide additional notice or seek consent before materially changing how we use personal data.
